About Australia's National Parks

Australia has thousands of National Parks, State Reserves, State Parks and conservation centres containing a huge range of different environments, including rainforests, deserts, marine life, wildlife and bushland.

Australia’s National Parks are paradise for everyone, especially for nature and wildlife lovers. All our National Parks are unique and are rich with natural wonders that have to be seen to be believed.

These parks are also places where you can undertake a variety of activities such as camping, swimming, fishing, canoeing, bush walking, rock climbing, hang gliding, canyoning and more.

Many National Parks require visitors to pay an entrance fee, which usually comes in the form of a Park Pass or Permit. These may be purchased for one day, several days or a whole year. Some National Parks require extra payment for camping. The fee varies, depending on the level of amenities available. Some Parks require payment at the Ranger office upon entry and others will have an honour box.
