Port Augusta Adelaide To Warnambool Road Trip

Driving from Port Augusta to Warnambool is about 960 kms on the Princess Highway along the coast. This trip could be done in several days or a week or two, many of the towns you will drive through will have plenty of tourist places of interest in the way of nature, beaches, scenery and buildings etc.

Port Augusta to Warnambool is a total of about 930 kms plus any extra travelling you do to attractions and other towns along the way. This trip could be done in a couple of days or you can take your time and travel for a week or 2 or more.

Port Augusta to Adelaide    315 kms

Driving from Port Augusta Victor Harbor and Gawler are both off the highway but worth a visit, Gawler is located on the Sturt Highway 45 kms north of Adelaide and is one of the first major settlements north of Adelaide and the western gateway to the Barossa Valley. Baroosa Valley is famous for it’s wineries and only an 1 1/2 hours scenic drive from Adelaide. Adelaide is a city of great visual harmony and classical elegant style, superbly set beside the River Torrens.

 Adelaide to Robe     270 kms

Driving from Adelaide to Robe, which is on the coast just off the highway you will travel past the towns of Murray Bridge, Tailem Bend, Kingston SE and the Naracoorte Caves.    

 

 

Robe to Mt Gambier        186 kms

Driving from Robe to Mt Gambier from Robe you can continue along the coast to Beachport then back onto the highway at Millicent. This region is called the Limestone Coast with many amazing coastal views and attractions.

Mount Gambier to Warnambool    182 kms

The last part of this journey travels to Portland  and then along the coast to Warnambool soon after Warnambool is the start of the famous and very popular Great Ocean Road.
